Pirate Treasure Map (magical) – SLJ #28

This Kick Start activity is about creating a pirate map with a pen and pencil, but mine is completely different! I ripped the edges of the paper, tried wetting it with a tea bag, and even poured rice on it. If you know the trend, yes, it’s that fantasy map trend.

I never had time to make one before, but here I am! My map is filled with magical and unique lands, including creatures inspired by Avatar: The Last Airbender. There are only three though—sorry, Airbenders!

Anyway, the fun part was being creative and letting my imagination run wild. The challenging part was drawing a compass—something I only realised when I took a final close look at the map.

If you want to learn more, feel free to check out this Google Doc!

BEWARE—IT MIGHT BE HORRIFYING FOR YOUR EYES AND EARS!

Aquatic Animal – SLJ #16

Here’s the Kick Start activity: drawing your favourite aquatic animal. If you don’t know what “aquatic” means, it refers to something that grows, lives, or is often found in water. I decided to draw mine on paper, but as I was doing that… I got a bit carried away and ended up drawing even more. I even created a human version of my favourite aquatic animal—an axolotl!

I wanted to draw an axolotl because they have unique and adorable features, like their feathery gills, smiling faces, and tiny limbs. They’re naturally charming, which made them perfect for me to draw using a pencil and an acrylic pen.

I also took some pictures of my drawings so you can have a closer look. The human version is named “Axel”, and the person currently pondering the massive difference between an axolotl and Axel? That’s me!

: ̗̀➛ THREE FUN FACTS ¡!

1✧Unlike most amphibians, axolotls don’t grow up completely. They stay in their “teenage” stage, keeping their gills and living underwater all their lives. Scientists call this neoteny.

2✧Axolotls can regrow lost limbs, parts of their heart, spinal cord, and even parts of their brain! Imagine being able to heal like that.

3✧Axolotls also come in a range of cool colours, like pink, white, black, and even gold. Some are naturally colourful, while others get their colours from special breeding or genetics.

➤ I finally got my Chromebook back! 🎉 Now I’m trying to catch up on all the SLJ activities I missed last week. Exciting, right?! 🤩 Anyway, here’s the Kick Start activity I found while scrolling like mad. 😂 This one’s all about creating a sea-creature-inspired mask by hand! You can use pencil, coloured pencils, collage, or even paint. 🎨🖌️

I don’t have any colours, so I’m stuck with my trusty OG pencil ✏️. The most challenging part? Coming up with a sea creature that’s both extraordinary and original. That’s when it hit me! 💡🐙

I’ve watched and read a bit of Percy Jackson (though I wouldn’t call myself a hardcore fan). But what I do love is Epic: The Musical! 🎶 It’s my absolute fave because I’m a bit of a geek when it comes to Greek mythology. 🏺⚡ So, I used that inspiration to get creative with my hand-drawn mask.

Hope you enjoy reading my little fact and checking out some hashtags I thought would give this a more social media vibe. 💬✨ #StayCreative #SeaCreatureMask #GreekMythologyGeek :3

My Ocean Collectables – SLJ #5

Kia ora! Here’s the Kick Start activity, this one is about hand drawn collectable cards. If you don’t know what collectable cards are, they are usually just pictures and information about someone or something and is part of a set that is collected by trading with other people. For example, Pokemon cards!!

Anyways, I drew five characters based on ocean creatures like they instructed, each of them with one fact and their personality. It wasn’t too challenging because I’ve been drawing since I was six, and drawing “people” is my thing.

I also thought it would be nice if my collectable cards were in a Google Slide, but still have that template they shared. Please leave a positive comment and tell me which character you like or is more likely you!!

Hard Origami – SLJ #4

Kia ora! Here’s the Step it Up activity for the Origami Fish. I followed a much harder tutorial, and to be honest, it was very challenging for me.

One of the reasons it was tough was probably because I didn’t have a 150cm paper—I only had A4 paper at home. As I started folding, I noticed how difficult it was for me, especially when watching the man in the video fold the origami so effortlessly. Still, I kept going! My favourite part of this activity was not giving up on an unfinished project.

!FUN FACTS!

Did you know that you can fold not just dry paper, but wet paper too? The technique of “wet-folding” was invented by Akira Yoshizawa. 😱

Origami is also a big deal in Spain! In fact, paper folding in Europe dates back to at least the 12th century! 🇪🇸

Origami Fishy McFish – SLJ #3

Kia ora! Today is another Kick Start activity which is all about making an ORIGAMI FISH. If you have no idea what origami is, it’s just a Japanese art of folding objects out of paper─for example, an origami swan.

For the origami fish, I firstly had to watch a quick and easy tutorial. It was challenging at first but I’ve actually enjoy one part in the activity and that is giving it a go.

Once my fish is finally done, I begin to draw an eye for him to see and a mouth for him to eat. Another thing is I name him… Fishy McFish. He’s a wise and firm blue captain of the bottom, so WATCH OUT!!!

!FUN FACT!

In the Middle Ages, samurai gave origami as gifts, symbolizing good luck❤🙏

Spring Learning Journey – Sixth Activity

Kia ora! Here’s my last activity as school is coming back up tomorrow, I hope this ad got your attention because it sure did got me. Anyways, the activity is about creating an add to encourage other people to visit my flower garden.

I bet I got your attention, right? This ad literally has bright yellow, making it stand out for spring. Hope you’ll visit my flower garden later, and happy LAST holiday too!

Cybersmart Challenge Google Slides Animation – HORROR

Kia ora! Another Cybersmart Challenge but this time, making a Google Slides Animation. Now, I know how to use Google Slides like the back of my brain and how I can make it into an animation. Anyways, I was thinking really hard of what type of animation I should make. Some of my classmates were making a beach, for example, a guy rowing on a canoe just like in the video.

That’s until I realise….Halloween is coming up soon in 57 DAYS! I love horror, so why not make a horror animation with a bit of LORE in it. For those who don’t know what lore is, it basically means background information about a person. Typically these are very random or secret pieces of information, but everyone has lore (have you had any slightly strange experience in your life? That’s probably lore).

So I got to warn you about creepy/disturbing images, but it’s barely even scary to be honest!? Happy 57 Days before Halloween 😉

Please leave a positive comment and have this (´。•᎑•`)っ🍪

(if you find any lore/clues about this horror animation, don’t be shy to comment it down and I’ll love to hear your theory)

Fifth Activity – Autumn Learning Journey

Kia ora and Happy Holidays to all! Today, 18th April, is Velociraptor Day which means that this task is all about velociraptors. Firstly, I had to draw a velociraptors from a video.

But it was super easy for me, since I just draw a lot and doodle stuff as well. Anyways, I don’t have much paper so I use a drawing app called “Kleki”. I use that app a lot to be honest, meaning I mostly do digital art! I then make a background, trying to make it look very old and dark.

Anyways…

Please leave a positive comment and have a safe Holiday ^^

Shadow Art – Kick Start

This week I did the Shadow Art – Kick Start Activity. It was all about going outside (if it was sunny), then looking for a plant or something and trace their shadow. In my backyard, it’s pretty dead. I think the hardiest part of doing this activity is tracing the shadow because when it’s sunny, it can also be a bit windy. And the easiest part of doing this activity is colouring my shadow art! Because I love to colour in stuff, I even have a colouring book to relax my mind.

Please do enjoy and leave a positive comment!^^
