Message in a Bottle Travels – SLJ #20

For the Step it Up activity of Message in a Bottle, I thought about where my message might travel to and came up with a lot of possible places. So, my message started at the breathtaking Cathedral Cove, then travelled to the historic town of Thames.

From there, it moved on to the massive city of Auckland, before heading north to the serene Bay of Islands. Finally, it ended up in Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand.

Though, just remember, this is only my opinion, and there’s a 50% chance it could have gone somewhere else! Who knows?? ✉︎

  1. Kia Ora Leata,
Im Blane from hay park school,
I love your creativity of doing a map I think that your map is my first one that I have seen as the SLJ kickstart. Because many people are using the template.

I think you should’ve added a picture or drawing of the bottle.
    But anyways happy new years
    bye

    1. Talofa lava, Blane!

I’m glad to hear you love my creativity! However, I’m a bit confused about what you mean regarding the SLJ Kickstart. This activity is actually a Step It Up, so I’ve already done one. I created a picture of a bottle and wrote a message in it. You can check it out by clicking this link.

Thanks for your comment, and Happy New Year!

  2. Kia Ora Leata,

This is Zana from the Summer Learning Journey. Great to see another awesome post from you.

What a fun step up from the previous post, I like that this activity has you imagine and track the journey your message in a bottle may take. I am sure it could be all around the world if left floating in the ocean.

What a fun, scenic journey your bottle went on. I wonder who may have picked it up at each shore, hopefully many people were able to read your lovely message. If you were able to plan where your bottle went as if sending a letter, where would you send it?

I hope to see more of your posts over the summer!

    Ngā mihi nui,
    Zana Yates

Thanks for your comment! I think I would want my bottle to be sent to Ukraine. This is because the situation there has caused increased risks of injury, illness, and death for Ukrainians. Russian missile strikes could leave millions without water, electricity, and heating during winter.

I hope my message would be a heartfelt reminder of how strong they are.

Thanks again for commenting, and Happy New Year!
