Rebus Puzzles – Step it Up

Kia ora! Welcome to another Summer Learning Journey Activity. This task is the Rebus Puzzle – Step it Up. All I had to do is make an emoji with a hidden message. So can you try and solve it?

Hint: Based on a school in NZ.

  1. Tēnā koe Leata,

Now this activity was even cooler, I thought about using the rebus code to make more words but not to take away letters from words, how cool is that!!

After some careful code cracking I think I managed to decipher your code, was it “Pt England”? I think you used the wrong flag so it may be something else?

I think your addition of hints is super cool and they were definitely helpful, my only feedback would be to ask a question on your blog to encourage you readers to comment.

It is great to see you participating in the summer learning journey again this year and I look forward to seeing more of your awesome posts, keep up the great work!

Jamie here from St Pats! Like Zana said, this activity is really cool, and helps you to think out of the box(which is what all rebus puzzles do!).

If I am correct, I have figured out your puzzle. Is the message ‘Point England School’? My only feedback is that you should have put +(plus) school(instead of – school) so that it would be Point England School instead of Point England. Please fix this error.

Have a great day Leata, and a Merry Merry Christmas 🎄🌟 to you and your family!! God bless
    Jamie

  3. Kia Ora Kieran,
I am Whaea Tanya one of the Manaiakalani Facilitators you might see commenting on the SLJ Blogs, I am finding it fun to see the different ways the tasks are completed.

Rebus Puzzles are one of my favourite things to solve. You have an image to look at but you also have to use your brain, and some are harder than others. The one you created for your school was cool. I have included some others I have used in class
Here is a link to some rebus puzzles.

Kia pai tō rā, and keep blogging
