Mana Ako T4 W3: Reflection

What I learnt today

Today in Mana Ako, our main focus was Labour Day. I learned many things from a short quiz that everyone had to complete. It was a bit challenging, but it helped that we watched a video first to get started. I focused on looking for keywords to highlight my answers, and for the fill-in-the-blank questions, I made sure to read carefully to see if my answers made sense.

Even so, I made some mistakes. Some of the answers I highlighted were wrong, so I had to go back and correct them. At least I’m being honest—no one is flawless when answering questions!

Anyway, have a good rest and sweet dreams of tomorrow 🐑💤

5 Facts about Sound

Kia ora! Here’s another 5 facts task, but this time about sound. My literacy class had to read an article about sound, and write it down. So, if you ever want to learn more facts then read this for more information.

I found this quite challenging because there was a lot of information about sound, so I had to skim and scan a bit which was really helpful. Anyways, enjoy reading my 5 facts that I know about sound from that article.

Please leave a positive comment and enjoy your weekends 😉

Explanation Writing – Sound

Fakaalofa Lahi Atu! Today for Friday, my literacy class is doing F.I.O.P which stands for Finish It Off Properly. So, this is my explanation writing about sound.
This was quite easy because I actually learnt about ears before, either it is in YouTuber Shorts or the Storybots in Netflix. Though, I had to quickly watch a video of what is sound.
Anyways, don’t be shy reading what sound is and how we hear it. You’re curious too, and I know it!

Problem Solving lV2

Fakaalofa Lahi Atu! This week for maths is learning how to solve word problems, we all know that word problems can be hard but it’s trying to confuse you. In slide one, you can see how I read the problem carefully and closely. That’s because I’m only looking for the keywords in this problem.
For example, Mr Wiseman spends $6 a day which means: One day = $6. Now for 7 days, we just need to multiply 7 to 6 because he spends $6 for a V drink.

Anyways, this task only has four slides and I hope you understand my solution to each word problem. Also, if you have a different way to solve it then feel free to leave a comment!

🎉Happy Niuean Language Week!🎉

Research Task: Niue

Fakaalofa Lahi Atu! This week for literacy, we have a research task for writing. The topic is about Niue, and we needed to research it from a website on the second slide. You can see it if you want to learn about this amazing island too!
Anyways, on the third slide is three INTERESTING facts, on the fourth slide is three facts about a HAIRCUTTING CEREMONY, on the fifth slide is three facts about Niuean FOOD, on the sixth slide is three facts about ARTS and CRAFTS, on the seventh slide is the difference between my culture and Niuean.

Spring Learning Journey – Third Activity

Kia ora! Here is another activity, but this one is about making a spring senses poem. Now if you don’t know what this is, it’s basically using your 5 senses that a human has which is seeing, hearing, touching, smelling, and lastly tasting.

I’ve heard of this type of poem, I learnt this from Year 1 or 2. Firstly, I went outside, front and back of my house. So if you read my spring senses poem, you’ll know what I saw outside!

Anyways, enjoy reading my sense poem and my hard work of writing this.

⤹ ˖°✿My Spring Senses Poem✿°˖ ⤸

I see the flowers bloom so bright,

I hear the birds sing with delight.

I touch the warm grass, soft and clear,

I smell the fresh spring in the air.

I taste the sweet apples, crisp and fine,

Spring is here! I roared.

Spring Learning Journey – Second Activity

Kia ora! This second activity is about making a song that reminds you of spring, now in my point of view in spring that it’s full of rhythm, soft beats and that fits in a jungle.

This took me awhile to think what instruments to use for spring, so I picked a marimba and a kit. If you know what these two instruments are then please comment down below and I would love to know some fun facts about them or something.

Anyways, hope my song brings flowers to your ears!
