Spring Learning Journey – Fifth Activity

Kia ora! Fifth Activity over here, this one is about creating maths problems for you. But spring-themed ones.

This actually took awhile to create since I’ve been brainstorming some creative maths problems, this Google Slides goes from easy to harder. Though, I think you can finish this easily if you time yourself.

Enjoy timing yourself and going through the maths problems.

Spring Learning Journey – Third Activity

Kia ora! Here is another activity, but this one is about making a spring senses poem. Now if you don’t know what this is, it’s basically using your 5 senses that a human has which is seeing, hearing, touching, smelling, and lastly tasting.

I’ve heard of this type of poem, I learnt this from Year 1 or 2. Firstly, I went outside, front and back of my house. So if you read my spring senses poem, you’ll know what I saw outside!

Anyways, enjoy reading my sense poem and my hard work of writing this.

Please leave a positive comment and happy holidays! (´。•᎑•`)っ🎉

⤹ ˖°✿My Spring Senses Poem✿°˖ ⤸

I see the flowers bloom so bright,

I hear the birds sing with delight.

I touch the warm grass, soft and clear,

I smell the fresh spring in the air.

I taste the sweet apples, crisp and fine,

Spring is here! I roared.

Spring Learning Journey – Second Activity

Kia ora! This second activity is about making a song that reminds you of spring, now in my point of view in spring that it’s full of rhythm, soft beats and that fits in a jungle.

This took me awhile to think what instruments to use for spring, so I picked a marimba and a kit. If you know what these two instruments are then please comment down below and I would love to know some fun facts about them or something.

Anyways, hope my song brings flowers to your ears!

Please leave a positive comment and happy holidays! (´。•᎑•`)っ🎉

Spring Learning Journey – First Activity

Kia ora! This is my first activity of Spring Learning Journey (SLJ), as you can see. I have wrote 5 facts about Kate Sheppard and if you don’t know who she is, then read the FUN facts!

Now, I wanted to make it a bit more creativity by drawing Kate but I just made it look funny with her big hair. Sometimes I wonder what I would look like if I had Kate’s hairstyle, though what do you think??

Anyways, hope you enjoy reading the fun facts that I or others didn’t know!

Please leave a positive comment and happy holidays! (´。•᎑•`)っ🎉

Kuaka T3 Wk 10: Response to Text Activity

Kia ora! This week is actually the last week for Term 3, I haven’t been blogging so much because of my High School and family stuff as well. But for now, let me just say that this task is about a boy and his friend being picked as School Captains but his friend is not a great role model to the school.

Anyways, I hope to finish off some more Reading or Writing or Maths here in my blog. Don’t forget to leave a positive comment!

Term 3 Speech

⤹✰✰My Speech✰✰⤸

1. Good morning everyone. My name is Leata, a Year 8 student here in Pt England School. Today, I will be talking about why having God in our lives is important

This topic is fascinating to me, because it’s a great way for young minds to know why God is even here, and his purpose towards us as we grow. Having God in our lives is important. So let’s start if we want to uncover the importance of him.

2. First of all, in my opinion, Guidance and Support are ways of God helping you make good life choices and find comfort when you’re sad or stressed. But how can God exactly help you, in a more realistic way?

Through emotional prayers, you can feel a sense of peace and a WAY stronger connection to God. Because of this, prayers are more likely messages to God who will always listen from afar (not physically but emotionally).

In fact, praying actually does help you as I have always prayed before going to bed and school. Which is why I believe that God is watching over me, and he’ll be watching over you too if you just try. Trust me, it’s like having good luck!

3. Next is Love and Care. God loves everyone, no matter how much trouble you’ve caused or even if you’ve made a serious mistake, like committing a crime- Although you guys wouldn’t do that? Right??

Anywho, this is an example of God’s big love, that is much like your mum who loves you as a child because they CARE. Moreover, I’ve made mistakes before and I take them EXTREMELY serious but not God. He loves me and he’ll love you too.

4. Lastly is Purpose and Meaning, God is often seen as the main link of giving purpose and meaning in our lives. As many believe that God created each person with a specific purpose in mind, connecting to something greater than themselves.

For example, my teacher knows how I draw a lot even when doing school work. Don’t worry, I still finished my work. What about you? (Jk not asking you all). I have a specific purpose, drawing is my purpose. Sport, singing, dancing.etc can be your purpose. Maybe God does have a taste for talent!

5. In conclusion, having God in our lives is so he can help us lead to the right path, give us strength through tough times, and make our lives filled with purpose as well.

Having God in our lives is so important. Anyways, thank you for listening to my speech. Good day.

Empathy – Mana Ako

Kia ora! This week in Mana Ako, we are learning about empathy and putting yourself in to other people’s shoes. Now I’ve heard of empathy but sometimes I forget about the meaning of it, so I always make a list of mine where it has words that I don’t know or can’t remember, that way I’ll know every word I come across to.

Anyways, about empathy, there is only one slide with four pictures of different shoes and a text box that will tell you what empathy is. For the shoes, it’s a reminder of respecting other people which includes your parents, grandparents, or teachers.

So keep this has a small yet GRAND reminder of empathy 🙂

Give it Heaps DLO

Kia ora! In this video, I’m gonna be trying to learn a new physical skill which is Staff Spinning. If you don’t know what that is, it’s like Samoan Fire Knife Dancing but no fair and a longer stick. Anyways, you’ll see how far it will take me to staff spin like a pro or at least spin fast.

Also, everyone had to finish this inquiry quickly. And I didn’t had to time to reflect yet, so I’ll just write it down here:

New Day! : I noticed how my staff keeps hitting around the desks or my legs as well, it was because of my not-so-safe surroundings! So I had to either go outside or on the street of Team 5. Even the staff’s tip keeps getting stuck on my jacket’s pocket, which is why I took off my school jacket and I continue my staff spinning in a wider (and safer) place to practise.

Day 2 : I was just practising, and I slowly noticed how I am getting better of spinning my staff. But there was one thing that was challenging, it was my shoulder. It’s really sore every time I keep spinning faster, so I needed to train my shoulder too. I

Day 3 :  Obviously, I hit my leg from my staff! Therefore, I decided to search up how to staff spin:

  • Hold the staff in the middle with one hand, keeping your grip loose but firm.
  • Move your wrist in a small circle, like you’re drawing a tiny circle in the air with the staff.
  • Let the staff turn around your hand. As it spins, gently open your fingers and let the staff roll over your thumb, then close your hand to catch it again.
  • Keep practicing! The more you spin, the smoother it will get.

Day 4 : This was definitely the moment where I actually spin really fast and do it in a strong long period of time! Although, I wish my other classmates would stop getting in the way because I had to edit them off =_=
