Why is Matariki so important?

Kia ora! Today me and my literacy class are yet doing another explanation writing, we do this so that we’ll be ready for any explanation we encounter in College. Anyways, since it will almost be Matariki, this explanation writing is all about what, how and why about Matariki.

If you never heard of Matariki or don’t know the story/meaning of this Maori New Year, good thing you’ll be reading my AMAZING writing.

Theme of Wish: T2 W8 Mana Ako


Kia ora! This theme is about Wish, yes the movie with very low star reviews but trust me this movie is super good. I have only picked one character known as Asha. To be honest, I really love how this movie resemble to Snow White! I don’t want to be a spoiler but it’s because the villain gets trapped in a mirror, y’know just like the Magic Mirror in Snow White.

Anyways, I hope you’ll enjoy the theme of Wish

Theme of My Little Pony: A New Generation – T2 W8 Mana Ako


Kia ora! This theme is about My Little Pony: A New Generation, I picked two characters named Sunny and Izzy. Also if you haven’t watch this movie but watched the old My Little Pony than what was your favourite pony back then? Mine was Pinky Pie and Twilight Sparkle!

Anyways, this movie shows how much My Little Pony have changed over the years. You might even noticed that the movie is not just an animation but a 3D animation! 3D is known as three dimensional, for an example… you see that the physical world and everything that is observed in it are three dimensional. Just like an apple, cardboard box, and Happy Meal.

I got a question for you! Do you have any 3D movies you know? And try at least named 5 things that are 3D!!

Theme of Thelma the Unicorn: T2 W8 Mana Ako


Kia ora! The theme is about Thelma the Unicorn, I watched this from 2 weeks ago and to be honest… it was really good. As you can see I only did one character because Thelma caught my eye of how she changes into a pony to a unicorn. Anyways, the google slides is super short so I don’t have anything to explain further.

I have a question for you! What’s your favourite animal? Mine is a unicorn, I know, I’m very old and is a senior of my whole school. But at least I’m not hiding my true self in the world, which is what the theme of Thelma the Unicorn is!

Theme of Sing: T2 W8 Mana Ako


Kia ora! The theme is about Sing, this time I picked characters that really caught my eyes about their problems… and then solutions. Buster Moon is quite an optimist kola in Sing, whatever problem he faces. He’ll look into the brighter side. Rosita is a hardworking mum I ever imagine, she cherish both her family and singing. Johnny is a passion teen yet he has a mobster father in his life, he never let fear in his mind and heart.

Anyways, this would probably be the most hardest research for me to read and write at the same time.

Kuaka Wk 8: Response to Text Activity (Matariki)


Kia ora! Today me and my literacy class are learning about Matariki now, as you can see you’ll be greeted with some meanings and questions at the last slide. I think I learnt that many other parts of the world have their similarities to Matariki, that’s kinda shocking right?

But what did I find challenging in this task? Well it’s learning new Maori words, I needed to find the meaning from a Maori Dictionary!? So next time, I’ll try to learn some Maori words either from my friends or teachers!

Theme of Annie: T2 W7 Mana Ako


Kia ora! The theme is about Annie (2014), I have watched this musical before and my god- I love the 2014 Annie!! Anyways, I have chose Annie, Will and Colleen in this slides. To be completely honest, thinking about the theme of Annie was quite hard but I did it quickly as I can. Wanna hear a fun fact? One of the foster girls (not Annie-) is a famous YouTuber known as Zoe Colletti.

Theme of Encanto: T2 W7 Mana Ako


Kia ora! This theme is now about Encanto, as usual I picked three characters and the theme at the last slide. First one is Mirabel, second one is Abuela and the third one is Bruno. Have you ever watched Encanto? I think this musical is a great example of showing that you have a talent inside of you!

I believe my talent is drawing, you see I always doodle or draw on almost every notebook in my house and school! But what about you? What talent do you have? How many talent do you think you have?

Theme of Vivo: T2 W7 Mana Ako


Kia ora! Another Mana Ako task about musical and their theme. This one is all about Vivo, I chose another three characters who are of course Vivo, Andres and Gabi. Their personality is absolutely gold, even their style and songs.

Anyways on the last slide, it will tell the theme of Vivo like the meaning of it all. Also enjoy the pictures you see and tell me if you know what scene they belong to in the movie of Vivo!

Theme of Matilda the Musical: T2 W7 Mana Ako


This week, Mana Ako is learning about musical films! As you can see I’m learning about the theme of Matilda the Musical, because the main point is studying about the meaning of the theme and the characters as well.

So I picked three characters that are likely known by others, the watchers. I chose Matilda, Miss Trunchbull and Miss Honey! I really love their voices, and more importantly… their acting skills. These three are probably very well known by others!
